The New 2022 Silverado

The New 2022 Silverado

With colder weather moving in, now is the time to see what’s out there and plan your adventures. What better way to do this than behind the wheel of the latest Silverado? At Herb Easley Motors, we have the trucks you want at a price you can afford.

Regarding full-size trucks, brand loyalty plans into what’s driven home. Loyalists to the Chevy brand are more than excited about the new version of the Silverado. While the Ford F-150 was recently redesigned and the Ram 1500 offers superior ride quality, the 2022 Silverado has hit back with a self-driving feature and snazzy cabin.

The engine options are as strong as ever, and if you have a job to do, you will find the new Silverado meets you beat for beat. The truck easily tows up to 13,300 pounds, and you can opt for a high-tech trailing package with multiple assist features.

Ready to learn more and explore exactly what the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado offers? If so, let’s get started!

Performance That Delights and Surprises

The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado offers several engine options, including two V-8s, a turbocharged four-cylinder, and a Duramax diesel. This means that you can easily find the right Silverado for any job you have to do.

If you are going for speed, the 420-horsepower, 6.2-liter V-8 is the best option and takes just 5.4 seconds to reach 60 miles per hour. The smaller 355-horsepower 5.3-liter requires 6.1 seconds to reach this same speed.

For towing performance, the turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine now offers 420 pound-feet of torque, ensuring it can handle almost any load you must carry. While the diesel has the slowest acceleration, the engine operates surprisingly quietly.

Each trim option of the Silverado feels smaller than its true size thanks to its agile handling and secure braking capabilities.

2022 Silverado 1500 Towing Capacity

Towing is a must for any hard-working truck, and the 2022 Silverado provides a towing capacity of 13,300 pounds. This makes this truck a capable hauler. It has out-towed the Ram 1500 by 550 pounds but does trail the F-150 slightly.

You can get this top tow rating with the 6.2-liter V-8 and diesel engine, and the 5.3-liter engine can handle a load of up to 11,500 pounds. Choosing the turbocharged four-cylinder engine provides you with towing power of 9,500 pounds.

What to Expect at the Pump

While the Silverado isn’t slated to be a saver at the pump (which is something all full-size pickup owners know), some options are more efficient than others. For example, the diesel engine provides an economical option for fuel with EPA ratings of 23 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. From that point, the average fuel economy for the 2022 Silverado ranges from 26 mpg to 16 mpg in the city and 22 mpg (on average) on the highway.

Stepping Inside

The Work Truck trim is the most stripped-down option you can purchase, with the High Country being the top-of-the-line option. The base option only provides the basics, including manual windows, locks, and adjustable front seats. The LT trim provides a much more upscale interior (which you can read more about below).

Remember, the Silverado is designed to be a practical and functional hauler. It offers drivers storage cubbies throughout the cabin, and it now offers a multifunction tailgate called the Multi-Flex. You can also choose from several bed lengths, which means you can get the ideal configuration for your needs.

Entertainment on the Go

The 2022 Chevy Silverado features a touchscreen infotainment system that gives drivers access to a mobile hotspot, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. The truck features physical buttons and knobs, which makes interacting with the infotainment system painless and simple. Also, the screen provides prompt responses to all touch inputs.
