2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 At Herb Easley Chevrolet, we understand that your Chevy Silverado needs to perform. The Silverado's ability to do that and so much more is why many people choose a Silverado over the competition. Let's take a closer look at the Silverado towing capacity and different trims to help you decide which model is right for you. more Silverado Towing Capacity by Engine A truck's towing capacity results from many different factors like the high-strength fully boxed steel frame, a capable transmission, advanced towing packages, and a rear differential to handle the torque. Perhaps the most significant factor is the engine which provides the torque to tow. The Silverado 1500 features five engine options, each with its unique capabilities and strengths. 4.3-Liter EcoTec 3 V-6 Chevy offers a 4.3-liter EcoTec 3 V-6 engine with direct injection and Active Fuel Management technology standard in the WT, Custom, and Custom Trail Boss trims. This engine pairs with a six-speed automatic transmission to deliver a respectable 285 horsepower and 305 pound-feet of torque. This powertrain is rated to tow up to 7,900 pounds and has a payload capacity of 2,250 pounds. 2.7-Liter Turbo A 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with auto start/stop, direct injection, and Active Fuel Management technology is standard on the LT and RST trims and available for the WT and Custom models. Chevy mates this engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission to give you 310 horsepower and 348 pound-feet of torque. This powertrain tows up to 9,300 pounds with a 2,060-pound payload capacity. 5.3-Liter EcoTec 3 V-8 Two 5.3-liter EcoTec 3 V-8 engines are available, one with Active Fuel Management (AFM) technology and the other with Dynamic Fuel Management (DFM) technology. The DFM version LT Trail Boss, LTZ, and High Country models and available on the LT and RST trims. The AFM engine is only available on the WT, Custom, and Custom Trail Boss. The AFM mates with a six-speed automatic transmission, while the DFM mates with an eight-speed automatic. If you choose the LT Trail Boss or the High Country 4x4, you'll get an upgraded 10-speed automatic transmission. Both get impressive power numbers coming in at 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. This powertrain can tow up to 9,400 pounds and haul 2,060 pounds with the standard setup or tow 11,100 pounds and haul 2,170 pounds by adding the Max Trailering Package. 6.2-Liter V-8 A 6.2-liter V-8 engine with direct injection and DFM technology is available on the High Country, LTZ, LT Trail Boss, RST, and Custom Trail Boss trims. Chevy mates this to its 10-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain gets a robust 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. It can tow up to 9,300 pounds and haul 1,690 pounds with the basic setup. If you add the Max Trailering Package, those numbers jump to 13,300 pounds and 2,090 pounds, respectively. Duramax 3.0-Liter Turbo-Diesel The Duramax turbo-diesel engine is available on the Lt, RST, LTZ, and High Country trim and offers the perfect blend of power and efficiency. A 10-speed automatic transmission completes this powertrain to deliver 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque and tows up to 9,500 pounds. 6.6-Liter V-8 The Silverado 2500 HD trim comes with a 6.6-liter V-8 engine with direct injection and variable valve timing. Chevy links this engine with a six-speed automatic transmission to deliver 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. As a result, it tows up to 17,370 pounds. Duramax 6.6-liter Turbo-Diesel The Duramax 6.6-liter turbo-diesel engine with an air induction system and a variable geometry turbocharger is available on the Silverado 2500 HD trim. This engine is paired with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission and gets 445 horsepower and a monstrous 910 pound-feet of torque. With a max towing capacity of up to 36,000 pounds, there aren't many jobs this powertrain can't handle. Truck and Trailer Camera System The Silverado 1500 and 2500 offer an advanced camera system that uses eight cameras to provide 15 unique views around your truck and trailer. Four of these views focus on the hitch alone. The Surround View provides a top-down bird's eye view of the truck and trailer hitch. The Hitch View gives you a close-up of the receiver and hitch to help guide you. A Rear Top-Down View shows you how much clearance you have around your truck. 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 For 2021, Chevrolet has introduced many new and improved features in the Silverado 1500. This already capable full-sized truck is now more comfortable and convenient, and it's safer than ever before. The Silverado 1500's towing capacity continues to increase along with its overall power and performance. There's no doubt that the 2021 Silverado 1500 will meet or exceed your expectations. more Choose Your Powertrain With multiple engines available for the 2021 Silverado 1500, there's sure to be one to suit your needs. A 4.3-liter V-6 is the base engine that gets 285 horsepower and 305 pound-feet of torque. It's paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and can tow up to 7,900 pounds. One step up, you'll find a 2.7-liter turbo-four that produces 310 horsepower and 348 pound-feet of torque and gets an eight-speed automatic transmission. This combination enables the Silverado 1500 to tow up to 9,500 pounds. If you want a diesel without purchasing a heavy-duty truck, the 2021 Silverado 1500 has you covered. An available 3.0-liter turbodiesel-six provides 277 horsepower and an impressive 460 pound-feet of torque. Its power and torque are transferred to the ground by a 10-speed automatic transmission. With this combination, you can tow 9,500 pounds. It's the most efficient powertrain for the Silverado 1500. The estimated fuel mileage for the turbodiesel is 23 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway for two-wheel drive models. Four-wheel-drive models get 22 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. The 5.3-liter V-8, which generates 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, is the most common engine for the 2021 Silverado 1500. You can tow up to 10,000 pounds with this engine, which has the option of a six-speed, eight-speed, or 10-speed automatic transmission. Four-wheel-drive models with the 5.3-liter only come with a 10-speed automatic transmission. This engine is equipped with either active fuel management technology or dynamic fuel management technology. If power is what you need, the 6.2-liter V-8 that makes 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque can tow up to 11,900 pounds. It's only available with a 10-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. When you get the four-wheel drive Silverado 1500 RST with double cab and standard bed, equipped with 20-inch wheels and the max trailering package, you can tow up to 13,300 pounds. Advanced Towing Tech Towing with the 2021 Silverado 1500 is easier than ever before, with an array of advanced towing technology to help you stay safe as you tow your boat, camper, or trailer. Eight available cameras can provide you with 15 different views, keeping you informed of your surroundings. The cameras provide four available views: Hitch View: Helps you with alignment when hitching up with a close-up view of the receiver hitch. Lucy Park, for example, is one of the town's most popular places to enjoy the fresh air, either alone or with loved ones. The 176-acre park set in a riverbed was founded in the 1960s and named after Mrs. Lucy O. Saunders, a famed female oil operator. Here at Herb Easley Chevrolet, we've compiled some of the most exciting things to do and see in Lucy Park. more Swim and Sunbathe If you love swimming, you'll have a great day in the water at Lucy Park. The large public swimming pool provides the perfect place to cool off from June to August. The pool's facilities are well-maintained, and lifeguards are on duty to keep swimmers of all experience levels safe. Simply bring appropriate swimming attire and some sunscreen to relax on a hot afternoon in the Texas sun. During the summer, the pool is open from noon to 6 p.m. seven days a week and costs $3 for adults and $2 for minors. Visit The Falls The man-made waterfall at Lucy Park paints a heavenly scene. The 54-foot cascade was constructed in 1987 on the Wichita River. To visit The Falls, park in the designated area and walk or ride your bike one mile down a well-paved path. The beautifully landscaped area offers plenty of shade, even on hot days. The Lucy Park waterfall is a popular spot for photo shoots, so bring your camera if you want to capture memorable moments. If you're lucky, you might spot turtles popping their heads above the water. Play Disc Golf Lucy Park is home to an 18-hole disc golf course that winds through green spaces and tree clusters throughout the grounds. Bring your own Frisbees and a group of friends to try your skills at this fun golf-inspired game on a nice day. All you have to do is drive, chip, and putt your way to each "hole." As with golf, the player with the lowest total score at the end of play wins. Picnic or Party at the Shelter Two spacious shelters and one cabin are available if you want to enjoy a picnic or host a special event at the park. One shelter fits 20 tables and can hold approximately 120 people. The other features 14 tables and can seat up to 84 people. A log cabin for special events holds 55 people. You can reserve any of the three structures for meetings, parties, and family picnics, depending on the size of your entourage. Rent the large shelter for four hours for only $15. You'll also have access to the restrooms, playgrounds, and ball courts nearby. If you want to grill out for your picnic in the park, claim one of the 34 barbecue grills around the property. Bring a plate of burgers back to your shelter, or find a quiet spot under a tree to enjoy an intimate meal. Go for a Hike Lucy Park is an excellent place to go for a leisurely hike, no matter your fitness level. The main trail is a 2-mile paved loop around the park. Numerous shorter paths branch off from this main one and take hikers, walkers, and joggers past attractions such as the Japanese pagoda and the suspension bridge over the river. A half-mile dirt trail takes visitors to The Falls. Leashed dogs are allowed on all park trails, so let your pooch get some exercise, as well. Play Volleyball If you want to get in on some competitive fun, challenge your friends to a game of volleyball. Lucy Park has three volleyball courts for visitors to play on: one concrete and two sand. Most of the volleyball tournaments in Wichita Falls take place here, so you might find yourself observing an exciting match rather than playing one. When the courts are empty, however, they're fair game. Go for a Bike Ride Lucy Park's 2-plus miles of paved paths are open to cyclists, too. The beginner-friendly trails are perfect for families and casual bike rides. If you're committed to a longer ride, however, the park is the launching point for the city's Circle Trail system. The rail-trail includes more than 20 miles of pristine 10-foot-wide bike paths. You'll share Lucy Park and Circle Trail's paths with walkers, joggers, and rollerbladers, but you won't encounter any motorized vehicles, making these routes safe cycling options. Watch the Birds If you are a bird-watching enthusiast, Lucy Park doesn't disappoint. The nearby Wichita River and centrally located pond provide a natural atmosphere and habitat for species such as geese, ducks, and waterfowl. You can sit on the benches near the pond or walk around to spot the birds in their hideouts. You can also visit the Nature Center to look for native species such as blue jays, cardinals, mockingbirds, woodpeckers, robins, red-winged blackbirds and wrens. Visit the Nature Center If you want to get even closer to nature, visit the River Bend Nature Center, which covers 15 acres of Lucy Park right along 3rd Street. Its attractions include the Bryant Edwards Learning Center, which has live exhibits showcasing amphibians, insects, and more; the 7,000-square-foot glass Ruby N. Priddy Butterfly and Nature Conservatory; and Peyton's Place butterfly enclosure. Nature trails take visitors through the Center's 15 acres of wetlands and bottomland forest, where you might spy wildlife such as raccoons and foxes.
